An Ugly Mailbox No More!

Just another victim of the gallon of black paint!  Don’t stop moving or you may be next…

Our mailbox needed some serious love.

This side of the mailbox bakes in the sun most of the day, so we definitely needed to get rid of the stick-on letters.  I daresay they aren’t working.

I used a razor to scrape off the numbers.  FYI if you have a ridged mailbox, scrape up and down.  Made the work so much faster when I figured that out (30 minutes later).  I used some trusty Goo Gone to get that residue off and then washed down the mailbox with soap and water.

After a few coats of black it was looking mighty fine.  (Don’t mind the mark on the white, I was a little rambunctious with the brush)

And of course, every mailbox needs some numbers.  These won out from Ace Hardware.  The price was definitely right at $2 a pop and they are aluminum (& black, duh).

Now we have a pretty mailbox at the end of the driveway.  Even the flag got a coat of fresh spray paint.  So much better to look at now!  Love these quick and easy projects.
